Annual General Meeting 2018
Thank you to the 101 members who attended our 2018 AGM last Saturday at Victoria Park Pavillion. The AGM offered attendees a great opportunity to find out more on the interim dividend rule change, Hepburn Wind’s work on the Z-NET Pilot and hear from Iris Degenhardt on her community’s transition to 120% renewables.
Iris played a critical role in developing the social license for renewable energy in Woolfhagen, a municipality in Germany. Her presentation covered the social, political and technical components of putting her community on a pathway to 100% renewables and developing the Citizen Energy Co-operative which owns 25% of local wind and solar resources including the local grid, in partnership with their local council. Iris described how her community have gone beyond their ambitions and have now reached 120% renewables, generating income that is used to develop new projects within the community.
General Manager of Hepburn Wind, Taryn Lane spoke to attendees about Hepburn Wind’s partnership program the Z-NET Community Transition Pilot. Led by Renew, Z-NET is a program seeking to make the Hepburn Shire the first zero-net emissions local government area.
Finally, members were able to learn about Hepburn Wind’s proposed rule change, enabling payment of an interim dividend. With explanation from the board and Hepburn Wind’s management accountant Phillip, members were able to receive contextual information regarding the change. Members passed the new rule change, which will enable the payment of a dividend prior to the next Annual General Meeting.
After the AGM members were invited to attend our artist in residence Cameron Robbins’ exhibition at Leonards Hill Hall.
We would like to thank Spade to Blade for their delicious catering, Hepburn Shire Council for their attendance and venue and Cameron Saunders, for managing audio during the event.
