Daylesford Town Hall was packed with local residents last Friday, 25 July, for the official launch of Hepburn Wind’s Share Offer, with a large media contingent including Channel 9, WIN TV and the ABC also present.
Hepburn Wind Chairman Simon Holmes à Court thanked many individuals and organisations for their hard work in getting this ground-breaking project to this exciting stage.
Guest speaker Prof. John Thwaites, Chairman of Monash Sustainability Institute argued strongly for communities taking action to safeguard their energy future and contribute to the fight against climate change. He reinforced his view that governments alone will not solve our energy and climate change challenges, and that it will be up to communities, working with business and governments, to take the initiative.
Apart from celebrating the journey this far, the launch was an opportunity to explain the nuts and bolts of the Share Offer to potential investors. Simon Holmes à Court said, “Months of work have gone into ensuring the Offer Document provides potential investors with all the information they need to make an informed decision. We know from surveys we have conducted that there are a lot of people out there who are concerned about climate change and want to invest money in projects that will not only provide them with a reliable financial return but also help secure the future of the planet. This is an investment that won’t cost the earth.”
The Share Offer document is now available for download. If you have already subscribed – THANK YOU!
The offer closes no later than the end of October 2008, however it may close earlier if oversubscribed.
