Investor Survey Boosts Confidence

The results of an online investor survey conducted by Hepburn Wind has boosted the confidence of all those involved with the development of the Hepburn Community Wind Park.

The survey, which was conducted in December 2007 asked respondents a number of questions about renewable energy in general, wind power and the respondents’ feelings about investing in a project such as the Hepburn Community Wind Park.

The survey received more than 400 responses with indications of nearly $4 million. Both these figures delighted the Chairman of Hepburn Wind, Simon Holmes à Court. “We’re very excited by these results,” he said. “They’ve confirmed that this project is supported by the majority of people in this community, and is truly set to become Australia’s first community owned wind farm.”

There is no doubt that the tremendous response to the survey is a direct result of the hard work and sheer volume of hours that many volunteers have committed to the project. “It’s a fantastic feeling to have this hard work rewarded with such a good result.”

Deputy Chairperson, Koos Hulst, also paid tribute to members of the community for their support and keen interest, “On behalf of the Board of Hepburn Wind I’d like to thank everyone that took the time to complete the survey. It was an important part of our community consultation process and it’s allowed us to hear what the community wants.”

Respondents to the survey were not just from the Hepburn/Daylesford area. Many were from around Australia and even overseas.
